What does a Community Day Living Assistant do?

You would provide 1:1 support to adults with developmental disabilities in their home and throughout their community! East Bay Innovations supports clients in Alameda County. We provide support to a diverse age group of adults with various support needs. Your goal would be to provide respectful, personal, and motivating services that enable our clients to participate in all aspects of their community, and lead meaningful lives centered around independence and empowerment.

Inside the home you would support clients with:

• Emotional support and companionship
• Exercise and walks around their neighborhood
• Reading
• Preparing snacks and lunch for the day
• Connecting with friends and loved ones virtually
• Personal/intimate care
• Medication management and administration
• Wheelchair lifts and transfers

Virtual activities available:

• Dance classes
• Music therapy classes
• Birthday celebrations
• Streaming of movies and music
• Gardening
• Cooking
• Activism
• Crafting and DIY projects

What’s the schedule?

We have a variety of open shifts Monday through Friday. Some start as early as 9am, and some end as late as 3:30pm depending on the support needs of the client and their families.

Salary: $17.33 per hour

We know COVID is still a real thing in our world. Our program has made some changes and modifications during the Shelter In Place. We are starting to slowly go back out in the community.

Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is provided to all staff and clients. This includes face masks, face shields, gloves, disinfectant, hand sanitizer and more!
