East Greenbush Animal Hospital Hiring for Kennel Attendant at East Greenbush, NY Full Time

Kennel Assistant

We are seeking a motivated animal lover to join our team as a member of our boarding/daycare facility within our animal hospital. This position includes, but is not limited to:

• Keeping cages clean and sanitized
• Walking, feeding, and picking up after the animals
• Various housekeeping duties (laundry, dishes, taking out garbage etc.)
• Checking pets in and out
• Playing with and interacting with cats and dogs of all sizes and breeds.
• Bathing dogs
• Nail trimming on dogs and cats

Applicant must:

• Be friendly and outgoing as you will be interacting with clients on a daily basis
• Be able to lift at least 50 lbs and be willing and able to safely assist in restraining or moving dogs of all sizes including dogs that are over 100 pounds.
• Be flexible with hours and available to work some holidays and weekends.
• Be comfortable standing, walking and being active for most of the day
• Be able to handle excited dogs who may bark and jump

Polite people skills and personal cleanliness/neatness are a must. Reliability and reliable transportation are requirements. Assistants have opportunities to work with the technical staff gaining knowledge and experience in the veterinary field. Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $15.00 – $18.00 per hour
