The Inventory Sourcing teammate is responsible for leading the creation and success of retail promotions from a pre-approved list of sellers and brands to ensure achievement of sales goals. Promotions include daily, weekly and seasonal sales and brand events offering in-demand inventory across eBay’s key Verticals (e.g. Fashion, Tech and Home & Garden).

This Inventory Sourcing Team own the end to end process for retail promotions on the UK site, which includes; sourcing guidance, inventory acquisition, price point & quantity negotiation, deals upload and live performance management to ensure the best converting deals remains live.

The Inventory Sourcing Teammate must develop long-term relationships with strategic brands and sellers to ensure the commercial success of the UK retail promotions program. Success will require close partnership with the Business Unit to understand strategic direction, market trends, report on retail performance and agree tactical adjustments to meet goals.

The successful candidate will need to operate to a high level of autonomy, have strong communication skills to support relationships with key stakeholders and to communicate plans and performance. The candidate must demonstrate personal drive to achieve targets and improve process.

Core Duties

• Lead inventory acquisition in partnership with vertical leads for retail promotions

• Provide sourcing guidance for sellers within your sourcing list for upcoming seasonal events

• Educate sellers and brands on policies and process for promotions and markdown events (.i.e. Strike Through Pricing)

• Educate sellers and brands on key marketing campaigns through the calendar year (.i.e. Black Friday)

• Ensure all inventory sourcing timelines are achieved to support execution of on time promotions

• Ensure adherence to all policy and vetting process steps

• Communicate with your inventory sourcing colleagues to plan slots effectively across the week / month

• Attend weekly business unit meetings to share feedback on trends, seller insight & suggestions to achieve targets

• Attend weekly GCX stand-up provide performance overview and share key call outs

• Support business unit with tactical asks, tests and pilots to drive seller growth across the site

• Support merchandisers with information and insight on trends

• Use Gro and trending tools to ensure your fully aware of any breakout trends in your categories

• Travel to support the trading team in the UK during key moments throughout the year

• Weekend/Bank Holiday/Public Holiday cover during key retail moments

Educational Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience
