About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to join the Quality Assurance team of the Governance, Quality Assurance and Student Casework Unit at Edge Hill University. Academic Quality Officers (AQOs) provide professional support for the University’s processes for programme approval, monitoring and review, academic planning and internal quality audit. Collectively they also deliver a professional secretariat service for Academic Board, its committees and major sub-committees in accordance with the University’s Articles of Governance.

AQOs are expected to maintain a high level of professionalism in all aspects of their work. They develop and maintain expert knowledge of national and Edge Hill quality requirements and use this to advise senior managers, academic and support staff at all levels of the University. They also make a significant contribution to the development and enhancement of quality management processes and take a substantial role in assuring the University’s continuing alignment with the Office for Students (OfS) part B Conditions of Registration for quality, standards and student outcomes on which the University’s continuing status within the UK HE sector depends.

This involves a high degree of professionalism and self-management; the ability to determine priorities, plan workloads and organise time and resources; and the ability to manage sensitive information with a high degree of confidentiality.

About You

As Academic Quality Officer you will:

· Have a good working knowledge of national HE quality regulation

· Have excellent report writing skills in an academic context

· Be able to pay attention to detail and work with, analyse and communicate with data

· Be organised, efficient and proactive

· Be able to develop and maintain effective working relationships

· Be a team player
