About the Role
This is an exciting opportunity for a Lecturer in Early Years Education to join the Faculty of Education. You will be required to make a significant contribution to the delivery of our undergraduate and postgraduate programmes, contributing to the delivery of our modules on child development, anti-racist inclusive practice, teaching and learning, research projects and other areas of our core curriculum depending on your areas of expertise and experience. We would particularly welcome candidates who have experience of teaching both the National Curriculum and Early Years Foundation Stage and could teach across our curriculum modules.
The Department of Early Years Education excels in providing a quality student experience across Foundation level programmes, UG, PGCE and MA programmes. You will be joining a dedicated, forward-thinking and outward-facing widely networked team, who are passionate and knowledgeable about the field of Early Childhood Education and Care (ECEC).
About You
As Lecturer in Early Years Education, you will be an enthusiastic and friendly professional with excellent communication and interpersonal skills coupled with a commitment to providing an excellent student experience. An established or promising research profile in early years and/or primary education and teaching experience on undergraduate and/or postgraduate programmes is essential. A background in teacher education with supporting qualifications and experience is essential.
You should have strong subject knowledge of EYFS and Key Stage 1 curriculum, as well as previous classroom experience in both areas and mentoring or supporting students in schools/settings.
