The Inspiring Governance school governor recruitment service
The Inspiring Governance Service (IG) recruits skilled, diverse volunteers and matches them (via our online platform based technology) to identified governing board vacancies across England. Governors are the unsung heroes of our education system and undertake a vital strategic role in our schools. They help set the school’s vision and ethos, hold senior leaders to account for the educational performance of the school and provide oversight of the finances to ensure public money is well spent.
Education and Employers has delivered a contract for the Department for Education since 2016 to help schools and academy trusts recruit skilled governors to strengthen their boards. We are passionate about ensuring school governing boards have the right skills and the broad diversity of thinking, support, and challenge that they need, in order to make effective decisions for the children in their schools.
Together with the National Governance Association, Inspiring Governance has jointly run two prominent campaigns Everyone on Board and Educators on Board to broaden governing board diversity and ensure schools can draw on educational professionals who bring big picture educational policy experience into governing boards. We also work with a wide range of employers and professional networks to target professionals with the skills that schools seek most.
Inspiring Governance is delivered by a friendly, supportive team made up of London based and home-based staff from all across England. This is an exciting time to join this team and the wider Education and Employers charity, within which you can be involved in making a huge difference to the future of young people.
