Part-Time Church Musician

ELLIS AVENUE CHURCH

Overview
Seeking a skilled church musician to provide music for Sunday morning worship service
for a diverse congregation located in Hyde Park/Kenwood. Musician must be able to play
piano/electronic keyboard and comfortable with traditional hymns, Christian music,
gospel songs, contemporary worship music, liturgical music, and other styles of religious
music. Have a theological understanding of church music and open to obtaining a
thorough working knowledge of the congregation’s worship services. Be able to
communicate well and in a friendly manner with the pastors, worship and music
committee members, singers, and members of the congregation.

Job Requirements

• Provide music in a professional manner for all worship services and all seasonal
and special services.

• Work with song leaders and Pastoral team to select weekly songs and identify

individuals (either from within the congregation or from an outside soloist or

musician).

• Comfortable selecting and leading music for our weekly services, as well as for
special services.

• Must be comfortable leading and teaching new songs.

• Encourage the musical talents and participation of members of the congregation.

• Able to rehearse sufficiently to maintain a high quality of music.

Hours

• Sundays: 10:30 a.m. – 12:30/1:00 p.m.

• Plus, rehearsal and planning time during the week or before Sunday service.

• Additional days/time for special services will be communicated in advance.

Compensation
Commensurate with experience
