About the role

Reporting to the Workshop Manager, this is an entry level role for a junior coder to implement low-level coding changes and carry out software testing.

Key responsibilities include:

• Writing test harnesses for embedded software in MATLAB and Simulink, mainly for safety-critical control applications in electric vehicles.
• Analysing existing software systems to find software defects.
• Maintaining or refactoring existing test harnesses
• Building scripts to automate test harness generation with scripted iterations
• Maintaining continuous integration pipelines.
• Writing project documentation

Skills and experience

• Qualification in mechatronics, robotics, or computer science or; have demonstrated experience in software development
• Experience with scripting and problem solving (i.e. algorithms, loops, recursion).
• Participation in programming competitions, such as ‘Project Euler’ is highly regarded.
• Experience with CAN networking and/or embedded firmware would be highly regarded.
• Experience with MATLAB or Simulink would be highly regarded.
• Self driven and capable of working and learning independently
