We are seeking a Front-End Developer to help drive a team in the development of new and robust educational resources using current and emerging front-end technologies.

About the opportunity

Supporting the ‘To Know, Worship & Love’ (KWL) series of religious education content, currently consumed by 150,000+ student and teacher subscribers each year, the Front-End Developer will be key to conceptualising, researching and building mechanisms that facilitate responsive and interactive learning objects. Through ascertaining the needs of the Digital Designers and text contributors, the Front-End Developer’s objective is to enhance the experience of the students at catholic schools, by building innovative and engaging User Interface offerings, key in the service delivery of ‘KWL Digital’.

To succeed / Key Responsibilities

• Work collaboratively in a team to design modern and engaging web mechanisms to create effective and visually engaging Religious Education learning objects.
• Research and employ best practice front-end web design technology and methodologies to deepen user engagement and spark learning curiosity.
• Assist in conceptualisation of new front-end initiatives and drive user interface innovation.

About you (Essential Requirements)

• Strong proficiency in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, TypeScript, AngularJS, React, jQuery, Bootstrap and other similar web front-end technologies.
• Experience in UX and UI front-end web development with ability to apply interactive design principles for websites and web applications.
• Strong understanding csv, xlsx, json and xml file formats.
• Experience in creating and deploying websites, using a common CMS such as WordPress, facilitating analytics, theme customisation and client hand over.

Highly favoured additional skills

• Digital Design experience with knowledge of Adobe CC, specifically Illustrator, After Effects, Indesign, Photoshop and Premiere.
• Motion graphics and animation software and technologies.
