About the Software Test Automation Engineer job:

We’re currently growing our development teams rapidly, and have a shift left mindset when it comes to quality coding and testing. We’re looking for a skilled and collaborative Automation Engineer to help our teams create testing frameworks across our web applications, mobile applications, API’s and more, where they will be enabled to own the quality of their code, with your help.

This role is unique, as you’ll use your significant technical abilities to identify test automation technologies that are fit for purpose, and then work with our squads to implement them.

Initially, you’ll help our developers test and automate, creating automated test scripts to reflect user interactions, and incorporating CI/CD and system uptime reporting. Over time you will aim to move to a quality coaching role, where you’ll mentor those engineers in best practice testing principles; and maintenance of their testing frameworks.

On your first day, we’ll expect you to have:

• 5+ years of programming experience with proficiency in at least one of the following languages: JavaScript, Ruby, Python, Java, C/C++/C#
• 5+ years developing test strategies and test automation, particularly with a Front-end framework (preferably React) with an automation tool (eg. playwright, cypress, selenium, or similar)
• Experience working with low-level messaging, queues, and data streaming
• Testing experience with REST-based design and Microservices
• Advocate for Software Testing best practices within a CI/CD environment
• Experience building performance metrics and performance test processes
• Be a critical thinker with strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Nice to have:

Degree qualified, Bachelors or Masters or higher qualifications in Computer Science, Software Engineering or equivalent.
