JOB SUMMARY
As Entergy works to become the Premier Utility, our core operations must have access to quality operational performance data, and the reports and analysis tools to enable data-driven actions to improve our processes and meet our Customers’ ever changing expectations. This position within the Planning Performance & Analysis department (PPA) will have responsibility for management and governance of the distribution operations performance data sets used and in some cases owned by PPA. PPA is responsible for reporting on a wide range of operational performance characteristics for Utility Operations, including reliability, work management, complaints, fleet, safety and training, along with analysis of those performance data to identify trends and monitor success of process improvement efforts. This position will develop and execute a data management strategy for PPA’s data files, including the PerfMan data, tools and programs, and be responsible for process to maintain the quality and timiness of PPA data sets. The position will work closely several groups within IT, with ED&A to align with the Enterprise Data Lake, with the business and technical owners for key systems (ADMS, Maximo/Click), and with owners of other data sets both inside and external to obtain appropriate access to support PPA’s needs for that data. This position will support the rest of PPA’s reporting and analysis work as well as assist self-service users accessing PPA data.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES :
Apply sound analysis, business judgement and decision making to technical/ data business problems, identifying performance drivers and evaluating options for resolving performance issues.
Effectively manage database/ technical projects involving cross-functional teams and highly visible issues, delivering expected results on schedule.
Support the development and execution of strategies to transform the organization for success in the rapidly changing customer-focused environment.
Serve as data custodian for PPA data sets, including characteristics of data engineering skills, data structures, data servers/ location options, data optimination; governance, access control, data curatoration
Utilize the following technical skills that are needed for both existing and new/developing databases:
Support applications built on the Microsoft .Net framework
Maintain SQL databases; write and interpret SQL queries
Support/maintain SSRS reports accessing PerfMan and other data, Report Builder is used to maintain these reports
Develop strategy and business case for future of PPA data needs, assess options and recommend solution for the replacement/ reconstruction of PerfMan to support the performance data needs of the Premier Utility.
Communicate with all levels of the organization, including representing the PPA team at meetings. Develop professional quality presentations of results and recommendations, persuasively communicate insights and conclusions, and provide briefings to other groups and upper management as requested.
Mentor junior analysts by working with them to increase their analytical skills to improve overall group performance.
Must be able to work in a team environment, manage multiple time critical projects simultaneously, and operate in a highly visible and rapidly changing work environment.
Minimum Requirements – Education
Bachelor’s Degree in a technical, economics or business field required, or equivalent work experience will be accepted, Masters’ degree is preferred.

Minimum knowledge, skills and abilities required of the position
Demonstrated experience with strategic or long-term business planning, complex problem analysis and solution implementation, or transformational process improvement projects. High level of quantitative skills with Microsoft Excel or similar tools applied for problem analysis, and strong competencies with PowerPoint and Word required.
