Kōrero mō te Tūranga | About the Role

This role sits within our Timaru Zone Delivery team based at our Timaru Office and provides a mix of both office and field-based work.

The Role Will Focus On

• Monitoring particular consents within your portfolio
• Responding to pollution events and general enquiries in our environment
• attending sites and engaging with landowners and the public
• making enquiries, investigating incidents and recording observations
• report writing and producing feedback on related activities and outcomes.
• upholding compliance with regulations and regional rules

A typical day may include liaising with a diverse range of people, including residents, farmers and business owners and assessing whether their activities are compliant with our rules. As you develop your skills you will respond to general complaints and, when necessary, undertake enforcement processes within the Resource Management Act.

We have a vacancy in our farming portfolio so knowledge of farming activities would be an advantage but is not essential.

Ideally, you’ll be tertiary qualified in a science-related field or have relevant practical experience in construction, farming or in a compliance-based regulatory environment.
