The Role – Front-end Software Developer

We are seeking an experienced Front-end Software Developer to design, develop, and deploy high-quality, user-centric front-end solutions for EOS One. You will leverage your expertise in Vue.js and JavaScript to build scalable, responsive interfaces that drive seamless user experiences, collaborating closely with backend developers and cross-functional teams to set best practices and contribute to architectural decisions. As a senior developer, you will mentor junior frontend developers, promote continuous learning, and ensure standards of performance, accessibility, and maintainability, while working closely with product, design, and QA teams to deliver cohesive end-to-end solutions. This role offers an exciting opportunity to influence the technical direction of EOS One’s front-end and play a key role in the success of our product.

This position will report directly to the Director of Software Engineering.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

• Design and develop web applications for the EOS One platform.
• Mentor and train less experienced developers.
• Contribute to the technology roadmap for EOS One.
• Participate in and guide agile processes within the team.

Core Skills

• Proficient in developing, maintaining, and enhancing web applications with Vue 3 and GoJS.
• Bootstrap: Skilled in translating designs into responsive, performant, and cross-browser compatible web interfaces using Bootstrap and SCSS.
• Agile Methodologies: Hands-on experience with agile methodologies such as Scrum, Kanban, or similar frameworks.
• Software Design Patterns: Advanced understanding of software design patterns, including CQRS and others relevant to modern software architecture.
• Strong experience collaborating with backend developers to achieve seamless API integration and backend service alignment, particularly with Azure, C#, and SignalR.

Secondary Skills

• Experience with Testing Frameworks: Knowledge of tools like Jest, Mocha, Jasmine, or Cypress for unit testing, integration testing, and end-to-end testing.
• Knowledge of State Management: Experience with state management libraries like Vuex, Pinia, Redux, or MobX to handle complex application states.
• Understanding of Accessibility Standards: Familiarity with WCAG (Web Content Accessibility Guidelines) and tools for testing accessibility to ensure inclusive user experiences.
• Performance Optimization: Skills in optimizing frontend performance through lazy loading, code splitting, asset minification, and understanding of the browser rendering process.
• Familiarity with RESTful APIs: Understanding of both REST for effective and flexible data retrieval in frontend applications.
• UI/UX Design Sensitivity: Awareness of design principles, user flows, and tools like Figma or Sketch to better translate designs into functional components and collaborate effectively with designers.
• Familiarity with Progressive Web Apps (PWAs): Knowledge of PWAs, including service workers, caching strategies, and offline functionality.
• Experience with Frontend Performance Monitoring: Tools like New Relic, Google Lighthouse, or Sentry for tracking and improving frontend performance and identifying potential issues.
• Understanding of Security Best Practices: Knowledge of secure coding practices, including familiarity with OWASP guidelines, Cross-Site Scripting (XSS) prevention, and Content Security Policies (CSP).
• Experience with Server-Side Rendering (SSR): Skills in SSR, using tools like Nuxt.js for Vue or Next.js for React, which improve SEO and load times for content-heavy applications.
• Exposure to Headless CMS and Content APIs: Familiarity with headless CMS solutions like Contentful, Strapi, or Sanity for managing content separately from the frontend application.

Location: Work from home with occasional work travel and onsite collaborative meetings as needed.

Job Type: Full-Time, Exempt

Compensation: $85,000-$105,000/year base salary, commensurate with experience, plus the potential for a performance-based bonus in addition to tech/office stipend, health benefits, life insurance, 401k match, voluntary life/disability/AD&D, summer flextime, PTO, and more.
