We are looking for a self-motivated, detail-oriented, highly organized Administrative/HR Assistant with excellent interpersonal skills for our new Ready to Rise (R2R) Program. R2R is a cohort-based employment program, designed to offer a unique online experience for marginalized women, living in BC or Alberta, in a self-paced, hybrid learning environment. The program helps to increase access to technology and develop employment skills through the use of our unique Learning Management System (LMS).
Reporting to the Program Manager, the Administrative/HR Assistant (AHRA) is responsible for providing an exceptional level of support to both the Program Manager and HR Manager. The AHRA handles a wide range of administrative support-related tasks to support the Program Manager, helping to ensure the smooth functioning of the R2R office. Tasks include, but are not limited to arranging meetings, preparing reports and presentations, proofreading documents, and responding to general inquiries. The AHRA will perform research as directed by the HR Manager for policy updates and assistance with onboarding and offboarding staff. The AHRA will provide support to the R2R team and participants as required.
Essential Qualifications and Required Skills:
· Post-secondary education in business, office administration, or human resources and/or an equivalent combination of on-the-job training and experience
· Training in or well-developed computer skills (Microsoft software applications, particularly Word, Excel, Access, Outlook, and Publisher)
· 2+ years’ experience providing administrative support
· Knowledge or experience in the implementation of human resources “best practices”, including strategies in recruitment and retention
· Experience working with people with diverse abilities and understanding their needs/gaps in a work environment
· Experience working online in a virtual setting using Microsoft Teams and Zoom
· Strong communication skills, both verbally and written
· Demonstrated ability to exercise good judgment, tact, and respect for confidentiality
· A COVID 19 vaccine passport
