We have an exciting growth opportunity for a scientist looking to step into a leadership role. You will be at the forefront of building and managing a team for new battery testing lab at our SF Bay Area location.

As a Manager, you will have broad responsibility and leadership of operations for our battery test lab. Implements processes, systems, and metrics to maximize profitable growth, drive quality improvements, provide premier customer service, develop a technically qualified team, reduce operating costs and lead times through continuous improvements.

Manages the coordination of activities of a group with responsibility for results in terms of costs, methods and employees. Provides supervision to analysts, including performance reviews and quarterly evaluations for bonuses. Oversees training of new analysts. Develop safe protocol for testing with EHS. Develops customer relationships to expand range of services provided and to maintain high levels of customer satisfaction. Interacts with peers and internal support personnel to coordinate work. Help identify the right tools for new capabilities for future growth.

This role is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). All accepted applicants must be U.S. Persons as defined by ITAR: U.S. Person is a U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e., “Green Card Holder”), Political Asylee, or Refugee.

• BS, MS or PhD degree in Chemistry, Physics or Materials Science with 5+ years of experience in battery testing
• Strong knowledge and experience in lithium ion battery and other new generation batteries.
• Ability to work with professionally with range of personnel and customers that have varied cultural backroads
• Battery testing experience / expertise; Including customer facing experience.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Fluent in MS office and related software tools.
• Must be a proficient communicator and listener.
• Able to work with minimal supervision. Able to work individually and as part of a team.
• Needs to have excellent relationship-building skills.
