What You’ll Be Doing:
Evolent Health Splunk Engineer (I, II, III, Sr) will ensure the customer’s enterprise SEIM Security deployments make the deepest impact possible across the customer’s organization. The Evolent Health Splunk engineer will help solve customer’s most challenging technology, security, and operational problems, including the ones they didn’t know existed. Evolent Health Splunk engineers are self-motivated, have an insatiable thirst to learn new technologies and thrive in a fast paced environment. Evolent Health Splunk engineers feel comfortable mastering new technologies and come from a variety of business, analytic and technology backgrounds.
Primary Responsibilities:
Drive complex deployments of Splunk while working side by side with the customer to solve their unique problems across a variety of use cases
Collaborate across the customer’s organization to get the right solution delivered and drive feature innovation gathered from the customer’s input
Leverage previous experiences, share best practices and create innovative solutions to push user adoption and maximize the value of Splunk for the customer
Design, configure, tune, and customize Splunk features.
Keep security tools tuned and coordinated with the necessary security posture.
Analyze current security tools and cloud/datacenter environments to ensure all security environments needing attention get the attention required per policy and customization needed.
Act as a Splunk enterprise Subject Matter Expert
Responsible for Splunk deployment and server infrastructure analysis, optimization and capacity planning
Responsible for maintaining a wide variety of data sources and application logs
Support Splunk on multiple platforms (i.e. Unix, Linux, Windows, network infrastructure, etc.)
Perform data mining and analysis, using various query and reporting methods
Solve/troubleshoot complex integration challenges and configuration issues
Handle critical/important day-to-day Change Order management and SOC operations involvement
Handle current and future security tool architecture design
Basic Qualifications:
Sr level position requires Splunk Engineer Certification, plus 5 years experience.
Level’s I, II, III positions based largely on certification and experience
Expertise in design, configuration, tuning, and customizing Splunk (either/or on-prem, cloud).
Thorough knowledge and experience of Splunk Forwarders, Indexers, Search Heads, Splunk clustering, Splunk Cloud, Splunk ITSI and features.
Expertise in ansible scripting automation.
Expertise in Splunk peering.
Experience in Hybrid in-premise and cloud configurations.
Agile/Scrum Master certifications/experience desired.
Software Engineer experience desired
Experience in regulated environments strongly desired (HIPAA, SOX, NIST 800-53, etc.)
Education Requirements:
Bachelor’s Degree in computer science, electronics engineering or other engineering or technical discipline. Combination of education, experience, military service will be considered in lieu of degree.
Strong technical, analytical and interpersonal skills
Attention to detail with excellent written and verbal communication skills
Excellent problem solving, research and follow-up skills
Self-motivation and ability to work independently
Technical Requirements:
Currently, Evolent employees work remotely temporarily due to COVID-19. As such, we require that all employees have the following technical capability at their home: High speed internet over 10 Mbps and, specifically for all call center employees, the ability to plug in directly to the home internet router. These at-home technical requirements are subject to change with any scheduled re-opening of our office locations.

Compensation Range: The minimum salary for this position is $90,000, plus benefits. Salaries are determined by the skill set required for the position and commensurate with experience and may vary above and below the stated amounts.
