Evoqua Water Technologies is currently seeking a Cost Analyst in the newly renovated Tewksbury, MA office . The Cost Analyst will be responsible for the daily, weekly, and monthly costing and general accounting activities to assure accurate reporting and analysis of APT SCM and plant costs. Assists in the planning and reporting APT SCM financials, Tewksbury, MA plant and other locations manufacturing activities as assigned.

This position is flexible for a hybrid work schedule.

Core Responsibilities

• Leadership in coordinating the monthly business closing process (P&L, Balance Sheet) including evaluation of expense and balance sheet accounts and preparation of monthly reports

• Assist in preparation of the annual budgeting and quarterly forecasting process

• Monitoring, maintaining, reviewing, and reconciling all applicable financial ledger accounts

• Communicate and coordinate with others inside and outside of the accounting area to gather appropriate information related to the finances of the business

• Perform various SOX duties as assigned

• Monitoring of ongoing operational performance metrics such as Excess & Obsolete inventory, Labor cost variances, Indirect labor cost inefficiencies and fixed cost absorption variances

• Partnering with and assisting Plant Controller and Plant Manager with decision-making (e.g. financial evaluation of manufacturing and operational scenarios)

• Fixed asset capitalization, control and monitoring

• Participate in cross-functional teams to improve controls and efficiencies

• Locally promoting awareness of financial performance and opportunities

• Providing various ad-hoc analysis and information requests as needed

• Ensuring full compliance with accounting and company policies and procedures

• Compliance with Evoqua Workplace Code of Conduct Information and Data Security policy

• Any other work-related duties as required by the Plant Controller

• Contribution towards a work environment that is healthy and safe

• Proactive in ensuring safe work practices are observed by our co-workers, sub-contractors and customer personnel

• Reporting of hazards, near miss, incidents and implementing control measures

Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in Accounting and/or Finance

• 3+ years of cost accounting experience preferred within a manufacturing environment

• Advanced Excel skills required

• ERP system experience required – SAP experience desired

Experience

• Sound accounting knowledge with strong background in factory cost accounting and product costing in a standard cost system preferred

• Demonstrated ability to lead and work effectively in cross-functional teams

• Demonstrated ability to perform process analysis and solve problems

• Acts as change agent, challenges status quo, takes initiative

• Able to work independently (self-starter mentality) and as an active contributor on (cross-functional) teams

• Assumes responsibility for assigned projects and initiatives
