Software Development Engineer III
Are you passionate about building scalable and resilient CI/CD ecosystems which can help build and deploy thousands of applications every day? Are you keen on adopting cutting edge open source technologies and making upstream contributions to the larger dev community? Expedia Group is seeking a motivated engineer with a passion for technology, problem solving, and out-of-the-box thinking to be part of our Delivery Platform Team. Our team is responsible for building a complete ecosystem for CI/CD technologies so that all of the application developers can build and ship their code seamlessly.
As Delivery Platform, we are a team of 50+ people from various backgrounds, distributed around the world (Australia, India, Europe, United States). 5+ of us are in Australia. We follow agile practices and our work is a mix of building out new pieces of the platform, supporting and educating developers, etc. We have experience contributing to Open Source. Our work has a direct impact on Expedia’s ability to deliver as a company, and every small improvement we make allows the company to move a little bit faster.
What you’ll do:

Design, develop, troubleshoot, and maintain Expedia’s Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery infrastructure (Github Actions, Terraform, Spinnaker, Jenkins, Chef)

Design, develop, troubleshoot, and maintain in house tools in languages like Java and Python

Deploy software in Expedia’s k8s, EKS, and EC2 runtime environments

Work in a global, geographically distributed team

Share your skills and knowledge with the team

Demonstrate engineering and operational best practices

Work with other teams to understand their CI/CD needs
Who you are:

Experience working in object oriented languages (e.g. Java) and scripting languages (e.g. Python)

Experience maintaining software in production environment

Experience designing and delivering complex projects
-
Experience developing for AWS (or other cloud environments such as Azure of GCP)

Experience with container orchestration (K8s, Mesos, etc.)

Excited to learn about new technologies
-
Focused on delivering projects to meet business needs
