Expeditors Hiring for Warehouse Coordinator (1PM-10PM) at Plainfield, IN Full Time

SUMMARY DESCRIPTION:

To ensure that TRANSCON customers are served from/in the managing branch; To support the Product Manager in the smooth running of the department within the branch through focus on Operations, People, Systems, and Culture in adherence to the company’s policy and procedures.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

People:

• Allocate workloads within the department.
• Effective management of temporary work staff to ensure productivity is met or exceeded
• Make sure department deadlines are being met in a timely manner
• Develop solid #2 to support operations
• Ensure team meets company standards of 52 hours training per year per employee.
• Ensure that the new hires complete company’s mandatory training within the first 6 months.
• Participate in employee appraisals and development meetings, at a minimum once per year
• Contribute/Lead effective daily team meetings
• Review department goals and business plan monthly with team to ensure buy-in and accountability.
• Proven experience in managing warehouse personnel and employee issue resolution

Operations:

• Create Export and/or Import files.
• Adherence to procedures as outlined in OPS and productivity standards.
• Work with Manager to consistently follow-up various shipment reports such as

o Shipments Per hour

o Expense Per hour

o Revenue to Expense ratio

• Consistently follow-up on hold and exception reports to ensure Expeditors is meeting customer requirements within the lifecycle of a shipment.
• Participate in vendors’ evaluations at defined intervals per company policy, focusing on areas of possible improvement with corrective action plans where needed.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with service providers, shippers, vendors and customers.
• Trending service failures to identify quality issues and implementing solutions where needed.
• Experience managing line-haul schedules and warehouse freight throughput

Customer

Support the manager where needed:

• Drive consistent processes among the teams and shifts
• Respond to requests for information timely
• Take an active role in the transition of new business/ updates to existing business.

Finance:

• Temp work staff payroll approval and processing
• Ensure that supplies are maintained at required levels for operation
• Equipment and warehouse maintenance
• Oversee and manage overtime/weekend scheduling

Compliance:

• Promote compliance by diligently following all company policies and regulations and in being the role model of integrity and pride for all employees.
• Proactively communicate with the team to ensure continuous awareness and understanding of policies and regulations.
• Maintain a positive relationship with the Trade Compliance Manager and support all compliance efforts and training.

• Meet company standards of 52 hours training per year, including as needed management/leadership training

Education and Experience:

• Five years related experience and/or training required
