To continue the establishment and growth of our CPD team within EY’s Business Consulting practice, we are looking for experienced, motivated people who have previously worked in programme and project management, engineering, or capital project delivery roles either in industry or in a client-side consulting role to join our team.

Role and Requirements:

To continue the growth of EY’s CPD Advisory stream, we are currently hiring Project Managers & PMO Leads with Capital Project Delivery experience across all levels from Senior Consultant through to Director.

Client Responsibilities:

• Working with clients across our focus sectors; Energy & Assets, Transport, Housing, Education, Health, Lifesciences and Telecoms to consistently deliver exceptional client service.
• Advising clients on the delivery of capital projects and programmes
• Undertaking project/programme health checks or rapid assessments to identify root cause on problematic projects
• Project set-up and mobilisation, defining operating model and delivery strategy
• Establishing Integrated project controls with a focus on time, cost and risk
• Contract Management – compliance with requirements, scope and change management
• Project health checks, intervention, and turnaround
• Dispute and conflict management
• Working as part of a team to ensure that all project deliverables are managed to time, cost and quality.
• Ensuring that project plans and project budgets are managed effectively.
• Delivering major project/programme activities, including project organisation set up, delivery and operating model development, project mobilisation, technical coordination, project/programme management, project intervention, commissioning, and asset management.
• Assessing the maturity of programme management and/or operations of an infrastructure or capital programme as well as providing and implementing recommendations to improve that maturity.
• Managing change control, project governance and stage–gates, including delivery of quality and timely reports to Project Boards.
• Working directly with clients on a regular basis to help create innovative insights and solutions to meet their needs.
• Integrating data to inform insights by sharing technical, sector and market knowledge in their area of expertise.
• Solving business and technology issues through collaboration and teaming.
• Applying knowledge, experience and expertise to shape services to clients with limited direction, including development of high-quality work products and presentation of project outputs, as required.
• Participating in, and as required, acting as the lead on small engagements or work-streams.
• Leading and motivating team members to ensure a sense of team and a clear understanding of goals and objectives.
• Manage risks & opportunities, issues, dependencies and escalate appropriately.
• High quality report writing and ability to communicate effectively with customers and stakeholders, (including senior management team), via meetings, presentations, and reports.
• Continuous development and improvement of processes and procedures within the team.

Internal Responsibilities

• Assisting in client account management activities such as recruitment for the project team, managing financial aspects of client engagements, and quality and risk management.
• Building collaborative relationships with clients and colleagues to assist in generating new business opportunities for EY.
• Providing a supporting role in presentations and proposals for elements of medium to high complex projects to prospective and existing clients.
• Communicating effectively with EY senior management and working to build, manage and motivate high-performing teams.
• Understanding all our service offerings and actively identifying opportunities to better serve clients.
• Building strong internal relationships within Consulting and across other services lines.
• Supporting team development activities, including:
  • Supporting, coaching, and mentoring activities.
  • Conducting performance reviews and contributing to performance feedback.
  • Contributing to people initiatives including recruiting, retaining and training activities.
  • Maintaining an educational programme to continually develop technical skills.
  • Understanding, following and communicating workplace policies and procedures

To do this role effectively, we are looking for people with knowledge and experience in the following areas:

• Approximately 5 years’ experience in a management consulting or similar advisory role in industry or the public sector including infrastructure project and programme management.
• Approximately 5-10 years of project management experience of managing and delivering large-scale projects, programmes and transformations, including project set up, project mobilisation, programme management, technical coordination, project intervention, governance and assurance, commercial/contract management, asset management and commissioning.
• Ideal candidates will have an ability to be agile and have multidisciplinary cross sector experience including delivery and operating model development, project management, procurement, commercial management, and/or contract management.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills with a track record in managing complex stakeholder programmes.
• Good understanding of project governance and change management principles.
• Strong 3rd level educational qualifications.

Additional professional qualifications such PMP, are desirable.
