Technology Consulting, Financial Services, Senior Manager – Operational Risk
We help some of the leading financial institutions in the world meet technology and regulatory requirements for operational risk in the Banking and Capital Markets, Asset Management and Insurance sectors. We aim to deliver industry-leading functional and technical insights to help our clients mitigate risks to their business and provide insights and accelerators to integrate operational risk with other risks and enterprise functions. The opportunity
You will help our clients develop a vision for modern operational risk capabilities and processes while assisting them with the organizational agenda and current/future risk and regulatory mandates. You will lead the discussion and provide clients with industry insights and recommendations on how operational risk technology is changing at their peers. You will have the opportunity to help clients with traditional as well as data-driven, proactive, analytics-based technologies. You will focus on providing technology assessments, requirements, technology solution recommendations, solution architecture, implementation road map development, software development life cycle and agile development support, and input for advanced analytics and visualization.
Your key responsibilities
You’ll likely spend most of your time leading teams and engagements, where you will deliver transformations of operating models, IT systems and input for data approaches to support the operational risk function. The transformations can focus on more advanced techniques for monitoring, automation of risk and control self-assessments, platform approaches to GRC processes and siloed systems, and control automation design and implementations. You’ll focus on the delivery of risk and regulatory remediation, process and technology improvement, cost reduction and delivering insights to our clients through enabling technologies. You will be involved in understanding the current business, regulatory and industry trends to deliver world-class solutions to solve the toughest challenges faced by our clients.

Ability to lead, coach and manage a team of professionals with diverse skills and backgrounds.
Ability to guide the team to create work products and manage overall quality in the following areas:
o Risk and controls self-assessments
o Operational risk events
o Operational risk taxonomy management
o Testing, monitoring and surveillance
o BPM and PRC mapping
o KPI and KRI management
o Operational risk reporting
o Comparative analysis and scenario analysis
o Creating and leading end-to-end solution definition/development
o Enterprise and solution architecture
o Having a strong point of view on where AI and analytics provide proactive risk identification
o Gathering requirements and translating into functional/system requirements
o Developing system change and configuration options
o Implementing changes to third-party and custom development systems
o Testing system changes
o Assessing operational risk programs and technology
To qualify for the role, you must have:
A bachelor’s degree and more than 6 years of related work experience; or a graduate degree and more than 5 years of related work experience; a degree in computer science, engineering, finance or a related field; more than 6 years of experience at a financial services company or comparable experience working as an advisor to a financial services company; a degree in computer science, engineering, finance or a related field; MS, MIS or MBA degree preferred.
Demonstrated understanding of the operational risk domain, both from functional and technical perspectives
Ability and comfort to research client inquiries and emerging issues, including regulations, industry practices and new technologies
Demonstrated ability to manage, supervise and build an effective team of technology consultants through all phases of the project technology life cycle, including requirements definition, architecture design, configuration/implementation and testing
Valid driver’s license in the US and a valid passport required; willingness and ability to travel both nationally and internationally to meet client needs
Ideally, you’ll also have:
GRC vendor tools (RSA Archer, MetricStream, ServiceNow GRC, IBM OpenPages, etc.)
Software development and delivery experience in operational risk technology
Knowledge of AI frameworks – conceptual solution-level skills with Microsoft Cognitive tool kits, Google TensorFlow, IBM Watson, AWS AI and ML solutions
Knowledge of data analytics – SQL, SAS, R, Hadoop, Spotfire, Tableau, Qlikview, Big Data
BCBS framework for operational risk (Basel 3 and 4)
Understanding of latest automation trends
Experience in core banking industry, financial services consulting or operational risk software technology company preferred
