The opportunity: your next adventure awaits
With rapidly changing global privacy laws and regulations, clients from all industries look to us for trusted solutions for increasingly complex risks. As a member of our Cybersecurity – Privacy team you’ll help clients gain insights into their privacy programs and capabilities to maintain compliance with global privacy laws and regulations. You’ll have access to our robust, global solutions and methodologies to advise clients on managing their privacy programs to mitigate their business risks. You’ll belong to an internationally connected team of specialists, helping clients with their most complex cybersecurity and privacy needs and contributing toward their business resilience.
You’ll work alongside respected professionals, learning about and applying leading practices to manage privacy program capabilities, which includes a focus on the people, processes, and technologies. You’ll gain insights into the design and operations of privacy programs and strategies in a variety of industries and learn how to design measurable, sustainable programs to keep up with the ever-changing regulatory landscape.
You’ll work with a National practice to assess privacy programs and strategies using our proprietary framework, design solutions to remediate gaps or enhance the maturity of specific privacy capabilities, improve measurements and monitoring, and develop sustainable processes to enable our clients to achieve business goals and mitigate their risks. You’ll gain experience applying foundational privacy and risk management principles in complex environments and leveraging cybersecurity and privacy frameworks / standards like the Generally Accepted Privacy Principles, NIST Privacy Framework, ISO/IEC 27701:2019, NIST 800-53, etc. Additionally, you’ll increase your understanding of privacy regulations such as the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act, General Data Protection Regulation (EU GDPR), California Consumer Privacy Act, California Privacy Rights Act, Virginia Consumer Data Privacy Act, Colorado Privacy Act, and other global data privacy laws (e.g., Brazil LGPD, Singapore PDPA).

Qualifications.
Bachelor’s degree in a related field and approximately 2-3 years of related work experience; or a Juris Doctorate graduate degree.
Basic knowledge and understanding of the core data privacy principles and data/information lifecycle (e.g., notice, consent, data collection, data use, retention, disposal, security for privacy, disclosures to third parties, data integrity, and monitoring).
Basic understanding of legal and regulatory requirements and compliance issues affecting clients related to privacy and data protection, such as global privacy laws, international cross-border data transfers and data localization, U.S. State Data Privacy Laws, HIPAA, Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act.
A willingness to travel to meet client needs; travel is estimated at 60-80%; a valid driver’s license in the US
Ideally, you’ll also have
Approximately 1-2 years of working in a Privacy environment assessing client risk and compliance to Global privacy laws and regulations.
If completing your Juris Doctorate degree, admission to the bar for your desired state.
IAPP Certification (e.g., CIPP, CIPT, CIPM), CDPSE, CISSP, CISM, CISA, CRISC or other relevant certification desired.
Demonstrated experience or knowledge in the following areas:
Privacy and data governance
Privacy policy creation or review
Consumer/Data Subject Rights
Privacy by Design concepts
Privacy, protection, and information governance data discovery tools (e.g., BigID, OneTrust)
Proficiency in using Microsoft Office applications, especially Visio, PowerPoint, Excel and Word.
Basic understanding of information technology and cybersecurity related issues.
Experience writing business and functional requirements with specifications, including strong documentation skills.
Prior business experience working communicating with project stakeholders and balancing business needs with tailored solutions.
