At Eyes in Town we are committed to helping our patients see well while keeping their eyes healthy. We are looking for an Optometric Assistant who is enthusiastic about eye care and loves working with patients to provide exemplary customer service. We have a great team and are looking for an individual with clear communication skills that will be able to learn on the job. We would consider experience in an optometry office an asset, but not a necessity.

Hours: 40 hours/week, 5 days/week including a late Thursday until 7:00.

Start date: February 2022

Experience: preferred but not a requirement

Primary Responsibilities:

• greet patients as they enter the office in a professional and friendly manner
• reception including answering the phone, booking appointments, processing insurance claims, and patient recalls
• pretesting patients before their appointment with the doctor
• additional testing with patients including retinal photography, OCT, and peripheral vision testing
• training patients to insert and remove contact lenses
• assisting patients in frame styling and lens selection based on their individual needs
• supporting and assisting other team members
• opening and closing procedures as well as office cleaning

• communication skills with a positive, friendly attitude
• motivation to learn with the possibility of extra education on the job including the optometric assistant course (CCOA course)
• confidence in skills mastered
• computer skills for electronic medical records
• enthusiasm and love of working with people
• passion for delivering excellent customer service every day
