What you will be doing:

• Reporting to the General Manager, you will be a key member of the Executive team, championing Fairmont’s Culture, Mission, Vision and Values
• Providing business support through the development and execution of key operating strategies
• Analyzing and advising on business operations including revenue and expenditure trends, financial commitments and future revenues
• Analyzing financial information to recommend or develop efficient use of resources and procedures
• Providing strategic recommendations and maintaining solutions to business and financial problems
• Working closely with hotel Asset Management team/Ownership to provide business support and analysis as requested
• Leading and managing the Finance, IT and Stores department to ensure all standards are followed
• Compiling and analyzing financial information to prepare financial statements including monthly, quarterly, and annual reports
• Ensuring financial records are maintained in compliance with accepted policies and procedures
• Ensuring all financial reporting deadlines are met
• Ensuring accurate and efficient monthly, quarterly and year end close
• Establishing and monitoring the implementation and maintenance of operational controls and strategies
• Overseeing budget and forecast activities and assisting Departmental Leaders as required through training and mentoring
• Ensuring accurate and appropriate recording and analysis of revenues and expenses
• Overseeing the hotel Capital process in conjunction with General Manager
• Participating in the hotel emergency plan and crisis procedures and ensures that they are kept up to date area of the emergency plan and crisis planning and procedures
• Adhere to and promotes all Company Health & Safety policies and procedures to ensure a safe work environment
• Following all safety policies
• Other duties as assigned

Your experience and skills include:

• Previous experience in a senior leadership role with accepted Accounting practices and principles required
• University/College degree in a related discipline required
• Strong analytical skills, strength as a developer and a leader of others, creativity, and strong planning skills are essential for this position
• Proven ability to lead a team and place strong focus on the growth and development of individuals on the team
• Ability to build strong relationships, interact and influence others at all levels of the organization
• Proven record of coordinating and leading multiple departments to work towards achieving targeted GOP, RevPAR, & other financial results
• Exceptional communication, interpersonal and guest handling skills
• Self-confident, proactive and able to prioritize and make effective decisions
• Demonstrated knowledge of budget planning and financial controls required
• Highly responsible & reliable with the ability to work well under pressure in a fast paced environment
• Ability to focus attention on internal guest needs, remaining calm and courteous at all times
• Keen eye for cleanliness and attention to details
• Clearly demonstrated ability to be innovative, creative and able to think outside the box
