Responsibilities
The Imaging Systems Assistant provides a positive, professional, knowledgeable and welcoming presence for all aspects of the department. This position provides expert support functions for all aspects of the department including: clerical services, managing patient records, customer interactions, maintaining professional and well equipped facility, scheduling and check in processes, direct customer support via phone, electronic communication, and in person. The imaging assistant understands and incorporates established HIPAA and ROI policies and procedures in all aspects of their accountabilities.
Reception and Patient:
Represents the department in a positive and professional manner
Performs customer intake duties
Answers inquiries according to department standards and takes concise and accurate phone messages
Refers callers and visitors to appropriate individuals
Schedule and checks in patients
Communicates written and verbal information in a clear and concise manner
Protects confidentiality of highly protected health information while working in a highly visible environment
Orders and maintains office supplies
Demonstrates the ability to perform multiple, simultaneous tasks in an environment faced with interruptions
Maintains lobby appearance, customer equipment, and amenities
Transports patients
Scan orders, reports and other information
Prepares daily paperwork
Review schedule and resolve conflicts and/or schedule changes
Film File Room:
Maintain up to date knowledge and proficiency with all information technology and radiology technologies
Burn CDs and maintains data on RIS
Files and retrieves film jackets and digitize analog films
Complete and organize law cases
Organize, maintain and updates the file system
Complete all computer functions in an efficient and correct manner
Verify patient identification on cd/ films released
Follow established policies and procedures for release of patient information
Requests previous studies for comparison
Uploads appropriate outside images to PACS
Accurately perform all information management processes
Respond to and complete all requests for information within established turnaround times
Assist with orienting and training of new personnel
Equipment:
Demonstrates proper technique in operating and maintaining all necessary equipment, Information Systems, phone systems, CD Burner, and office equipment
Identify and actively perform problem solving processes for equipment to ensure all are in working order
Positively learns and adapts to new technology as it is introduced

Vaccination Update
As part of our ongoing efforts to protect the wellbeing of our teams and to provide a safe and healthy environment for the patients and communities we serve, all Fairview employees will be required to receive both an annual flu vaccination and the COVID-19 vaccination series. Current employees must have completed both vaccination schedules on or before October 31, 2021.Beginning August 9, 2021, any new hires who are not fully vaccinated against COVID-19 are required to receive their first dose prior to their start date and their second dose (if receiving Moderna or Pfizer vaccines) within 4 weeks of their start date. Annual flu vaccinations are also required before the employment start date for employees who begin employment during the flu season.Accommodations requests will be reviewed on an individual basis.
