Fairview Health Services Hiring for Respiratory Care Practitioner at Hibbing, Minnesota Full Time

Overview

The Respiratory Care Practitioner specializes in the delivery of cardiopulmonary care and treatment of the patient from premature infants to geriatric. The care is given at the patient’s bedside or in special function labs. The level of care given can range from critical care to diagnostic testing. The care is given using the current practice parameters and policies/procedures while supporting the goals, mission, vision, and values of Fairview Range. This is an on call position working 12-hour Day/Evening/Night shifts and weekends as needed.

Responsibilities/Job Description

• Advanced critical care procedures, including managing all ventilators and BiPAPs.

• Performs effective airway management including intubations, extubations, trach tube changes, bag/mask ventilation, conscious sedation.

• Routine respiratory care procedure on inpatients and outpatients.

• Performs diagnostic procedures including ECG’s, pulmonary function, and oximetry.

• Performs equipment assembly and testing.

• Effectively educates patients and students. Attends staff meetings, in-services and educational opportunities.

Qualifications

Required:

• Must maintain registration with State of Minnesota as a “State Registered Respiratory Care Practitioner.”

• CRT/RRT or eligible with the NBRC.

• Current RRT or obtain within one year of hire date.

• Must have passed BLS, ACLS, PALS, NRP, and BCS or willing and able to complete required class within first year of employment.

Preferred:

• At least one year of clinical experience in respiratory care.
