Farmlands Looking for Transformation Change Manager at Christchurch, Canterbury Full Time

Farmlands Co-operative is Aotearoa New Zealand’s largest rural supplies and services Co-operative. We are one of NZ’s largest businesses and provide technical advice and solutions across almost every aspect of the primary sector.

Farmlands have a strong core retail business with over 80 stores in its network. It has a well-established shareholder card network (with over 75,000 shareholders and over 7,000 card partner locations), with operations dealing with feed production, nutrition, e-commerce, fuel, distribution, agronomy, and a wide variety of other areas.

The opportunity

We have an opportunity for a Christchurch or Auckland-based Transformation Change Manager to join the team. Reporting to our GM of Strategy & Business Performance, this newly created role will lead the change of a strategic programme of work that will deliver significant impact. Collaborating, influencing, leading and inspiring you’ll lead the execution of the change component of these programmes across Farmlands.

You’ll take the team along on the journey by focusing on the people side of change. This is a unique role that requires you to balance high-level change management with the ability to influence and inspire others.

You’ll also be responsible for:

• Building relationships with key stakeholders and identifying all parties that will be affected by the change
• Generating a change management strategy based on an evolving framework that drives full adoption, achievement of project objectives and benefit realisation
• Leading change management activities and initiatives in line with your agreed strategy
• Working alongside our communications team and People and Safety to ensure organisational readiness, confidence, and engagement of the transformation within Farmlands
• Providing regular status reporting on adoption, successes and challenges.

What you’ll bring to the role

You’ll be a commercially savvy change leader with a successful track record in delivering multi-year programme outcomes. Intuitive and empathetic, you’ll communicate with passion and conviction to inspire our teams through change. You’ll also have:

• A proven track record in change management within a diverse and geographically spread commercial business environment
• Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to build effective working relationships
• Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, at all levels to successfully achieve outcomes
• Knowledge of change management principles, methodologies, and tools
• A background in Project Management with experience in strategic implementation
• Empathy with the agricultural industry and some exposure is preferred but not essential
