About the Position

FFW is looking for a Designer to join the Experience Design (XD) Team to support creative outputs across a range of digital projects. You are a talented designer, with a passion for making delightful, ground-breaking work, and committed to producing exceptional experiences. You’re ready for hands-on projects at every stage of the lifecycle, from brainstorming creative concepts with the project team and developing original campaigns to participating in client presentations and ensuring deadlines are met all the way to launch.
FFW is a seriously collaborative work environment, so Designers need to collaborate across disciplines daily, from developers to analytics to client services, while maintaining high standards for original concepts and detailed execution. As a Designer at FFW, you must demonstrate strong conceptual thinking and the technical expertise and attention to detail that bring those creative ideas to life. Whether it is color, typography, or usability, you will constantly strive for the perfect balance to enhance the expression. Brand guidelines are your friend—from developing them to ensuring they’re consistently followed in each and every project you touch. Your design execution and aesthetic choices elevate the experiences you are designing. You thrive working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, frequently moving from project to project. You are inspired by new innovations and follow the latest design trends. Above all, you are a talented, fun, curious person.

Responsibilities:

  • Produce meticulous, beautiful experiences that consider business and user objectives, brand guidelines, and channel specifications or requirements (websites, mobile applications, email, etc.)
  • Create and present design deliverables with limited oversight, including design concepts, comps, experience strategy documentation, prototypes, style guides, pattern libraries, deliverable styling, etc.
  • Prototype complex interactions with high standards of usability in mind
  • Serve as a resident expert of digital tools and be skilled in developing digital design concepts.
  • Be well-versed with web technology, usability, and core development tools, understanding web design constraints and how to design for a CMS
  • Foster the great creative culture and talent we have across FFW, including outside of the XD team
  • Learn to design not only for the handoff but for the presentation

Qualifications:

You Have…
  • 2+ years of relevant applied digital design
  • Experience in an agency setting
  • English fluency
  • Experience working collaboratively with UX, Designers, and Developers to build great user and brand experiences and products that consider innovation, business impact, and user needs
  • Highly conceptual thinking skills in both visual and interaction design and a solid understanding of designing intuitive site functionality, interaction, user interfaces, and navigation
  • A drive to generate great ideas and see them through execution
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Excellent, structured, and confident workshopping skills, including the ability to design and lead engaging workshops focused on moving forward in decisions with clarity and focus
  • Engaging presentation styles and visual communication skills
  • Enthusiasm for the work that you can spread to others
  • Experience with digital design products, such as Figma, InVision, Photoshop, Sketch, etc.
  • Ability to execute under tight deadlines while managing multiple projects
  • Excellent time-management skills necessary for this 100% remote role
  • A desire to contribute to making our company a great place to work
Nice to have
  • Experience with web content management systems, like Drupal
  • Experience with HTML/CSS/JS prototyping (though we use InVision)
