We are looking for a DevOps Engineer who will be working with various departments to create and develop systems. You will be increasing productivity in the workplace by creating and implementing systems software and analysing data to improve existing ones.

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborating with the team to conceptualise, develop, and release software.
• Conducting quality assurance to ensure that the software meets prescribed guidelines.
• Securing software to prevent security breaches and other vulnerabilities.
• Collecting and reviewing customers’ feedback to enhance user experience.
• Suggesting alterations to workflow to improve efficiency and success.
• Perform setup pipeline for deployment.
• Prepare routine operation documentation.
• Setup, manage and maintain services and instances on Amazon Web Services.
• Rolling out fixes and upgrades to software, as needed.
• Setup and maintain monitoring of technical performance and statistics of products.
• Participate in product system design, optimisation, and capacity planning.

Position Prerequisites

• Able to code in Python.
• Extensive experience with building and supporting Docker and Kubernetes in production.
• Understand AWS (Amazon Web Services) and be able to jump right into our environment.
• Lambda is used in conjunction with S3, CloudTrail and EC2.
• CloudFormation (Infrastructure as code).
• CloudWatch and CloudTrail.
• Version Control (SVN, Git, Artifactory, Bit bucket).
• CI/CD (Jenkins or similar).
• Docker Compose or other orchestration tools.
• Rest API.
• DB (Postgres/Oracle/SQL Server or NoSQL or Graph DB).
• Java and Python.

Other Key Expectations

• Communicate effectively through JIRA tickets or in-person to define solutions with Account Managers or to communicate resolutions to issues.
• Can review code and ensure the quality of code deployed is high and the solution is sound
• Able to uphold the company’s values when interacting with staff/customers/other individuals when representing the company inside and outside of the workplace
• Log all work accurately in Jira
• Ensure all processes are followed correctly for documentation/GIT/communication
• Provide reporting to the Team Lead related to the status of your tasks and work

Education / Certificates / Training

• Tertiary qualification in Computer Science, IT or similar is not essential but highly regarded.

Shift Time:
