What does a great Product Manager do?
The Product Manager helps the business understand and deliver to the market functionality that our Financial Institution clients and prospects need to be successful, focused on payments, helping our business succeed. He/she works with internal groups, like Senior Management, Development, Sales, and Support, as well as with our bank customers to define the strategies, broad capabilities and detailed functions of our treasury services and account analysis space. The Product Manager will be responsible for product strategy and innovation. He/she will “own” the components of the overall treasury and account analysis platforms, will participate in product positioning, project management, sales support, and customer support. This is a fast-moving position, requiring the Product Manager to search for new ways to accomplish traditional tasks, to understand the market, to challenge the status quo and to be confident presenting their business case. You can look forward to interaction with many different areas of the Fiserv business and being part of a Fortune 500 organization. The Product Manager reports to the Director of Product Management, has no direct reports, and works under general supervision, providing significant input regarding his / her products and their management and direction. This position includes significant internal and external client and market interaction, and as such requires strong professional presence, communication and decision- making skills.
Basic Qualifications for Consideration:
• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or equivalent experience
• Min of 5 years’ experience in commercial banking, treasury management, payments, or financial software
• Knowledge of commonly used business analyst concepts, practices and procedures within software and web-based applications
• Ability to create high-level and detailed product descriptions and definitions
• Ability to make decisions based on precedent and solve problems using sound judgment and experience.
• Strong organizational and interpersonal skills with good follow-up skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to analyze and solve complex problems.
• Ability to multi-task and adjust schedules to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
• Weekend and off hours work and availability is required from time to time.
Preferred Skills, Experience, and Education:
• Familiarity with Project Management tools
• Familiarity with agile and scrum development methodologies and the associated role of Product Owner.
• Good PowerPoint and presentation skills
• Ability to develop business cases
Travel required: 30% Percentage
