ABOUT THE ROLE
The Software Support Engineer will join Fivecast’s technical support team and contribute to our customer’s success by troubleshooting complex software issues, reproducing them, proposing work-arounds, resolving or escalating as required, and communicating with our global customer base as issues are addressed.
You will become a domain expert for our Software-as-a-Service products, understaing the core capabilities and limitations, and how to apply our software to a diverse range of customer requirements. You’ll work closely with our experienced tradecraft, development and operations teams and gain experience in a broad range of technologies across all layers of our software stack.
Beyond immediate remediation, you’ll have the opportunity to modify and improve the core product, addressing common customer feedback, identifying and fixing root causes, building and maintaining tools to help solve underlying or recurring problems and contributing to in-app help and training material to improve the customer experience.

Experience

• Tertiary qualifications in information technology, software, or computer science
• Minimum 2 years programming experience, with Java, Javascript, SQL and Linux shell experience preferred.
• Proven experience in a software service delivery related role.
• Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with an ability to give technical instructions to a non-technical audience.
• Experience using Jira service desk, Zendesk or similar support ticketing software desired.
