This is an excellent opportunity for experienced applicants within the Bakery Industry to join the team at New World Thorndon.

New World Thorndon is a premier supermarket in Wellington with a reputation for superior customer service, range and quality.

Our Bakery Department has significant sales volume within the New World group and an extensive product range. We have a substantial setup, with the latest Bongard Artisan Bread Plant and many other quality pieces of equipment.

We require qualified Bakers who are skilled across this field, is dedicated to high quality and have a vision for continuous improvement.

The Role:

• Assist in the development and monitoring of production planning
• Lead in product refinement and range expansion
• Provide our full range at all times whilst exceptional quality is maintained
• Maintain daily operation in collaboration with the Bakery Manager
• Ensure the Health and Safety, Food Safety and store procedures are strictly followed

What we need from you:

• Highly qualified baker
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Attention to detail and commitment to quality
• Confidence and maturity to work unassisted at times
• Applicants must have reasonable experience or in a similar role

The position will require some early morning shifts, varied hours and rostered days, which are to be discussed. There is a requirement for working one weekend day. An appropriate remuneration package will be offered.
