Foodstuffs South Island Looking for Beverage Production Assistant – Murdoch Manufacturing at Templeton, Canterbury, New Zealand Full Time

Murdoch Manufacturing is a wholly owned subsidiary of Foodstuffs South Island Ltd; manufacturing and packing a diverse range of food and beverage products for the retail market for the South Island.

We are ideally looking for someone with a background in counterbalance and Reach truck capabilities to fill a rare vacancy in our carbonated beverage bottling operation based in Hornby, Christchurch. The successful applicant will work in all key areas of the plant, with the main focus being the efficient and effective use of our counterbalance aspect of our operation, while progressively learning the other operational aspects of the production line.

Key tasks will include:

• Safe and effective Forklift movements throughout the beverage plant and warehouse areas
• Learning and subsequent operation of key production equipment including Bottle Depalitiser, Filler, Labeler & Case Packer.
• Maintaining a clean and orderly workspace in accordance with our food safety program and in line with Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP)
• Completing quality control and key assessments during the production cycle to satisfy the high level of compliance required with our products.

Hours of work:

Hours are dayshift, Monday to Thursday – 10 hours per day/40 hours per week. There can be periods of overtime within the plant around increased production demands, and it would be expected that the applicants have the flexibility to participate in this on a rostered basis as required.
