Ford Model-e Platform Architecture Engineering is looking for software engineers to work on prototyping of firmware, software, and supporting frameworks for embedded systems.
In this role you will work cross functionally with the product development team to develop embedded software platform solutions for the next generation of Ford vehicles. You will be expected to pivot quickly on new ideas. Failing fast will be the normal.
What you’ll do…
Design, develop, code, test, and debug embedded system software based on provided requirements
Implement APIs to support higher level application abstractions for the embedded system services
Build automation in support of the above
Assess third party and open-source software for potential leverage and acceleration of the above
You’ll have…
Bachelor’s degree in software engineering, computer science or a related field or a combination of education and equivalent experience
2+ years experience designing APIs for a diverse range of developer skill sets
2+ years experience with Rust (highly preferred), C, or C++ on embedded systems
5+ years of software development experience
Even better, you may have…
Master’s degree in software engineering, computer science or a related field
2+ years experience implementing Matter (highly preferred), Zigbee or Thread IoT standards for shipping embedded devices
Experience in hands-on development and troubleshooting of embedded system software devices
Solid knowledge of Git, bug tracking software (Jira or other), and peer review workflows
Developing across a broad scope of domains
Able to execute against diverse and ambiguous requirements
Strong documentation and writing skills
Good communication and relationship skills
