Position: Project Health and Safety Administrator

– Proof of minimum 2 vaccinations is required.

The ideal candidate will have a minimum 3 years experience in large-scale construction, in a dedicated health and safety administrator role.

Note: This is a contract position – expected duration is approximately 5 months, contract concludes approximately July 1/2023.

Scope: Provide Occupational Health and Safety Administrative services at a large scale industrial construction project in Northern Ontario.

Start date: February 24, 2023

Duration: Approximately 5 months (variable depending on production), rotations are 14 days on/14 days off.

Shift duration: 10 hours a day, 7 days a week during rotation;

Responsibilities:

• Maintain all safety training records and ensure compliance with applicable regulations and standards;
• Assess and record completion of all daily/weekly/monthly health and safety documentation;
• Assist in development and distribution of various health and safety reports in a timely manner;
• Assist in completion of WSIB reporting and claims, OH&S forms and ensure incidents are reported to all appropriate parties;
• Maintain knowledge of the Occupational Health and Safety Act and related regulations (O.Reg 213/91 – Construction Projects) and legislation;
• Various additional administrative tasks in support of the health and safety team;
• Responsible for WSIB, return to work, creating H&S reports, H&S orientation;
• Assist in planning and start up of new projects with respect to safety complianceAdditional duties assigned, as required.

Qualifications/Skills:

• Must be organized in approaching work tasks and able to prioritize effectively to deal with competing demands
• Must have excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
• Must be proficient in written and oral communication.

Travel expenses, including flights and accommodation are pre-paid by the employer.

Pending successful completion of this project, there may be opportunity for further employment beyond this contract.

Bilingualism in English and French is a bonus.
