Forté Looking for Technical Product Specialist at Auckland, Auckland, New Zealand Full Time

Forté is seeking an analytical and solution-oriented Technical Product Specialist with a background in the specification-building industry and a passion for technical details.

The successful candidate will play a crucial role in managing the technical aspects of our comprehensive product suite, including exterior cladding, decking, timber flooring, and paneling.

Your remit will encompass understanding and working with building codes, technical specifications, product testing, and compliance information. Problem-solving and technical writing skills are vital, as is the ability to work and communicate effectively with trade professionals such as architects, builders, and contractors.

The role can be based from either our head office, 3 Keith Place, Pukekohe, or our Auckland Showroom, 299 Great North Road, Grey Lynn.

Responsibilities

1. Maintain current knowledge of building codes and regulations relevant to our product line.
2. Interpret and implement technical specifications for our products, ensuring compliance with all pertinent industry standards and regulatory requirements.
3. Collaborate with the product development team to conduct product testing, ensuring all products meet the necessary specifications and safety standards.
4. Communicate effectively with trade professionals such as architects, builders, and contractors to troubleshoot and solve technical problems.
5. Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation, leveraging your technical writing skills to create clear and concise product specifications, testing procedures, and compliance information.
6. Provide technical guidance to sales, marketing, and customer service teams, fostering an accurate understanding of product specifications.
7. Leverage IT skills to enhance efficiency in handling technical information and data analysis.

Qualifications

1. At least 3+ years of experience in technical specification within the building industry.
2. Familiarity with building codes, technical specifications, and compliance requirements.
3. Proven experience with product testing and performance evaluation.
4. Excellent technical writing and problem-solving skills.
5. Proven ability to work effectively with trade professionals such as architects, builders, and contractors.
6. Proficiency in IT systems and quick adaptability to new computer software and tools.
