The Content Specialist role is part of Franklin Templeton’s Product Marketing group. Key responsibilities include the development, oversight and maintenance of a specific area of content–spanning both asset classes and piece types–that the Product Team manages. This position will work on a range of projects that support the goal of optimizing the standard suite of product materials, including creating or updating content components or documents, managing custom presentation requests, and addressing Portfolio Manager presentation needs for certain due diligence events and road shows. As part of a global network, there may be a variety of projects to fulfill these objectives, and the Content Specialist will create, update, optimize or customize product content in a timely and accurate manner.

What are the ongoing responsibilities of a Product Content Specialist?

• Supports an existing service model in place to address the spectrum of product content requests from creating new materials or content components to updating existing materials and customizing content for various business needs. (with the support from the other Product Marketing team members).
• Accountable for creating, maintaining and continuously improving core suite materials and presentations, including ensuring the content contained within is accurate, timely, well-presented, and conveys a compelling story.
• Manage the monthly and quarterly update production cycles to ensure our product content is presented to the market with updated and accurate data and product messaging. Always seeks to QC the materials before distribution.
• Liaises with different internal groups, of all levels, including sales/marketing, client service, management, legal, performance, web, e-mail and graphics
• Builds positive and productive relationships with key business partners and sales teams to maintain open communication about what’s effective and what is not working well.
• Actively seeks to drive business results by identifying opportunities to enhance/strengthen our marketing materials and messaging
• Strives to serve as a product content subject matter expert for all areas of the company; act as an advocate within Global Advisory Services, driving visibility and interest for our support and services across our internal clients make off-cycle changes according to the business and regulatory needs, as advised by SMEs, product strategy reps. or the management.

What ideal qualifications, skills and experience would help someone to be successful?

• Minimum of 2-5 years of experience in a marketing communications or production role.
• Bachelor’s degree, preferably with a major in economics, business, marketing or liberal arts.
• General knowledge and understanding of various asset classes (equity, fixed income, balanced).
• Fluency in English/Spanish required. Portuguese and/or French also an asset.
• Experience in adhering to schedules, prioritization, project management, attention to detail, organization of materials and cooperating with team members.
• Strong verbal and writing skills
• Microsoft Office proficiency, particularly PowerPoint
• Works under very general supervision; work is reviewed for accuracy
• Comfortable with a virtual team structure, with team members located in different time zones
• Effective interpersonal skills, proficiency at prioritization, and the ability to operate under tight deadlines
• A true team player, translating prior knowledge and experience into strong and productive relationships internally and externally
