Description
Under close supervision, performs routine duties assisting in the provision of human resources programs and services for management, employees, volunteers, applicants and the general public.
- Responsible for the administration of, and assists employees in completing insurance, unemployment, workers’ compensation and other personnel forms
- Maintains records on sick leave, vacation, and other absences
- Handles or refers personnel related inquiries and checks references
- Assists in compiling human resource related statistics for management
- May handle paper flow for periodic reviews
- Assists in maintaining employee files
- Performs other duties as required
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
- One (1) year of clerical experience in Administrative, Office Support or Human Resources work
- Solid computer skills in office word processing, email, spreadsheet and presentation applications
- Ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing
- Ability to develop and maintain awareness of occupational hazards and safety precautions
- Skilled in following safety practices and recognizing hazards

Criteria/Conditions
- Ability to understand and apply verbal and written work and safety-related instructions and procedures given in English
- Ability to communicate in English with respect to job assignments, job procedures, and applicable safety standards
- Must be able to work in a potentially stressful environment
- Work is mostly performed in an office setting
- Occasionally work will be performed in a mine, outdoor or manufacturing plant setting
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, sit, demonstrate manual dexterity, climb stairs, talk, hear and see
- Occasionally may be required to lift moderately heavy objects up to twenty-five (25) pounds during the course of the workday
- Personal protective equipment is required when performing work in a mine, outdoor, manufacturing plant environment, including hard hat, hearing protection, safety glasses, safety footwear, and other protective equipment as required
- Freeport-McMoRan promotes a drug/ alcohol-free work environment through the use of mandatory pre-employment drug testing and on-going random drug testing as allowed by state laws

Pay Range:
$19.15-$25.80/Hourly
Rate of pay dependent on competency, experience, qualifications and skills
