Job Title: Food Production Associate – RAW Meat Processing

Hours: 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM | Monday – Friday (occasional Saturday)

Starting Pay: $18 per hour

Roles and Responsibilities:

The RAW Processing Associate is responsible for performing various positions on each production line including meat preparation and packaging. The RAW department prepares raw meat, pre-cut by our suppliers, for cooking in our smokehouses.

Primary Duties / Essential Functions:

• Efficiently net, clip and hang meat to produce high standard products
• Inspect, weigh, and document various products
• Contribute to the team effort by working with other associates and by following production policies and procedures
• Maintain awareness of and compliance with OSHA, DOT, USDA and other governmental agencies
• Know and recognize quality products and practices, and take action when defects are identified

Workplace Requirements:

• This position requires standing
• Our plant is temperature controlled – work is performed in a constant, cool, 40-degree wet environment
• Employees frequently lift materials weighing up to 50 pounds overhead for various production needs
• Employees may have to frequently move production materials weighing up to 50 pounds around production facility
• Constantly operate machinery, product and other production equipment
• Occasionally ascend/descend stairs and ladders to operate production machinery
• Must be able to communicate with co-workers and supervisors regarding production requirements; must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations
• After training, must be able to identify defects and inspect product for quality
• Must be able to smell ammonia

Education:

High School Diploma or Equivalent preferred

Experience:

Experience in food production or Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG) a plus.
