The role:

We are currently seeking a motivated and hardworking Software Engineer for our Innovation Inspection team to join our established Australian Operations and reap the rewards of an inclusive and engaging team. Based in Fugro’s West Perth office you will be working within a small team.

In this role you will:

• Improve and extend our desktop data acquisition software solutions, facilitating the storage, processing, and retrieval of data.
• Work alongside team members to maintain software solutions and improve/develop new functionality.
• Provide technical, end user and developer support for existing software solutions.
• Maintain the integrity and high availability of our platform and services.

What we are looking for:

• An engineering mindset passionate about building resilient and scalable software.
• At least 1-2 years commercial software development experience.
• Be an avid learner and love working in a varied and high-pace environment.
• Be an excellent communicator.
• A practical understanding of algorithmic complexity, data structures, and methods to accelerate access to data (such as spatial indexing).
• Understanding of 3D modelling and concepts.
• Experience with horizontally scaling of workloads (e.g., cloud or HPC).
• An interest in low-level/embedded programming, data formats, and related.
• Working knowledge of GIS concepts.
• Experience working with sensors, sensor data or geo-positioning.
• Commercial experience with C# and SQL databases.
