Job Title: Chief Technology Officer (CTO)

Job type: Hybrid, (2 days a week in the office.)

Responsibilities:

1. Strategic Vision:

• Build and own the organizational product roadmap to ensure continuous growth.
• Engage internal and external stakeholders on roadmap items, ensuring alignment with business objectives.

2. Leadership and Decision Making:

• Demonstrate meaningful decision-making abilities, taking ownership of mistakes and implementing corrective actions.
• Demonstrate a deep sense of ownership of outcomes, driving initiatives to successful completion.
• Ensure critical decisions leverage data rather than stories.
• Possess a fundamental understanding of the financial feasibility of products.

3. Team Management:

• Manage and mentor development team members to foster a culture of collaboration and excellence.
• Effectively utilize well-honed Agile processes to streamline development workflows.
• Manage multiple development teams across geographic locations, ensuring effective collaboration and communication.

4. Technical Expertise:

• Apply a firm understanding of building maintainable software through architecture, SOLID design patterns, and coding practices.

5. Client Engagement:

• Directly engage with clients to understand their needs, address concerns, and build strong relationships.
• Demonstrate an understanding of the domain, organization, and clients at a macro level.

6. Ownership and Accountability:

• Take charge of driving effective execution against the organizational roadmap by providing comprehensive ownership and guidance to the R&D teams.
• Utilize a combination of well-defined processes and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to quantitatively measure the operational health of the R&D teams.
• Engage directly with the CEO/Board, providing insights on the roadmap, product releases, and operational health to ensure alignment with organizational objectives.

Qualifications:

• Proven experience in a senior leadership role within software engineering.
• Successful track record of engaging external and internal stakeholders.
• Strong decision-making skills with a focus on corrective action and continuous improvement.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
• In-depth knowledge of Agile processes and project management methodologies.
• Ability to navigate and address challenges in client interactions.
• Experience managing and mentoring diverse development teams across locations.
• Expertise in software architecture, SOLID design patterns, and coding practices.
