COST ANALYST (3) – Entry Level – USA – Remote

We are seeking candidates to support the West Coast, Mid-Central and East coast of the US. Work will be performed from a home-based office.

Gaea is an Implementation, Integration, Reporting, Project Schedule & Cost management specialist. We help our clients leverage the full use of their enterprise systems, which we implement, to maximize their ability to run large capital construction projects and other financial endeavors.
The ideal candidates considered will possess both financial and business analytical skills, be quick to understand systems/processes, come from an MIS or Engineering Educational background and have both excellent written and oral communication skills.
Our next hire will be trained on analyzing data across multiple systems, how it is architectured, and how that data can be turned into a meaningful report that will help business users make informed decisions. NOTE: this is an entry level spot and will require a significant amount of clerical and data entry activities to support the finance staff.
WHAT YOU WILL DO:
Data analysis, spotting data trends, performing gap analysis, generating reports, and recommending improvements to current business metric collection process.
This individual will be responsible for reviewing, validating, and in some cases, creating and producing forecasts, reports, ad hoc requests, dashboards, etc. in order to provide insights to determine operational impact, trends, and opportunities.
Recommend and direct changes in operating procedures to improve efficiencies in payment and procurement processes.
When necessary, offer analytical support for departmental projects.
Coordinate with management to ensure cost forecasting reports are consistently checked and applied.
Monitor and document actual and estimate reports.
Stay up-to-date on project budgets and project spending.
Examine data to help with reducing cost in all operations.
Contribute in developing yearly operation plans, budgets, and estimating new product costs, including economic analysis.
Providing financial models.
Making financial forecasts.
MUST HAVES:
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business or relevant field.
Minimum of 1 year or an internship experience in budgeting, forecasting and accrual/variance analysis.
Advanced Excel skills a must.
1 year experience developing reports or query writing with PL/SQL and/or Microsoft SQL/MySQL Server is a plus.
Proven experience as an analyst in a financial setting.
Excellent analytical, mathematical, and problem-solving abilities.
Outstanding presentation, reporting and communication skills.
Superb analysis and presentation skills.
Aptitude to succeed in a stressful and deadline-oriented environment.
Solid understanding of Information Systems.
Strong technical and numerical skills.
Strong communication skills (both written and verbal) – ability to clearly communicate complex quantitative analysis in actionable insights.
Detail-oriented and passion for problem-solving.
Ability to work on own initiative or as part of a team.
Knowledge of data tools.
EXCEPTIONAL CANDIDATES CONSIDERED WILL HAVE:
Advanced Degree in Finance, MIS, or related fields.
1 years experience in budgeting, forecasting, accruals and variance analysis.
1 years experience developing reports or query writing with PL/SQL and/or Microsoft SQL/MySQL Server preferred.
Advanced level Excel skills.
Knowledge and experience with Oracles’ Primavera P6 a definite plus.
Knowledge and experience with Unifer a plus.
Prior knowledge of Oracle EGS, Netsuite, Hyperion, Essbase Downloads, Advanced MS Excel and Google Suites.
Prior reports built for the Construction Industry focusing on Project Controls, Cost Controls, Business Processes is a plus.
