Purchasing Manager
Summary:
We are looking for a skilled Purchasing Manager who will be responsible for planning and organizing Indirect sourcing initiatives with respect to Capital Purchasing, purchasing of Indirect goods and services, certain key commodities and related projects. The Purchasing Manager runs RFx events and negotiates agreements to ensure that purchases are made at the lowest total cost and highest quality consistent with the needs of the internal stakeholder, and in alignment with company policies and procedures. The individual will monitor macro trends in his/her supplier contract base and devise and implement plans to react, protecting GAF from commodity price swings and shortages. The individual will drive adherence to defined supplier performance metrics and will manage the supply base to ensure alignment with those metrics. The candidate will also lead, and/or participate on, cross functional teams and will drive implementation of sourcing requirements necessary to achieve objectives. He or she will have a mature understanding of the industry and will maintain industry and supplier contacts and relationships, building effective partnerships. The Purchasing Manager will exhibit full commodity understanding (function, technology, content difference) necessary to align targets and program deliverables. The individual will demonstrate understanding of the commodity competitive market and key commodity indices in order to make recommendations and implement alternative suppliers or alternative materials.
Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Ensure all purchases are made in accordance with company policies and procedures.
Identify cost saving opportunities using competitive bidding (RFx) and negotiations, to drive best overall value.
Negotiate and complete contracts for capital equipment, demolition, construction, and other major projects.
Negotiate Master Services Agreements..
Support renewal requests, budgetary pricing requests, contract inquiries, NDAs and Statement of Work review requests.
Maintain appropriate documentation and files for all projects.
Support the improvement and upkeep of sourcing templates and other documentation used within Indirect Purchasing.
Collaborate with GAF Teams (Legal, Data Privacy, IT, Risk, Engineering, Operations) to mitigate risk during contract negotiations.
Collaborate with and guide personnel throughout the network to increase their technical purchasing knowledge and skills.
Lead supply chain based projects, identifying benefits and providing periodic updates to management.
Report on active projects and contribute to collaborative, cross-functional reports.
Contribute to process improvements and to driving efficiencies within projects.
Assist with MRO and other indirect Purchases including Technology opportunities, as requested.
Perform other duties as assigned.

Basic Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor’s Degree required.
5+ years of experience in indirect procurement, with a preferred focus on capital and services in a manufacturing environment (machinery, integrated manufacturing systems, support services)
Demonstrated experience working in a cross functional team to successfully develop and negotiate with all stakeholders; required services and materials, deliverables and price, redlined Equipment Purchase Agreements, Construction Agreements, and Master Service Agreements.
