The Position
Gallagher Bassett has an exciting job opportunity in the role of Executive General Manager – Operations. This key position is responsible for developing and executing the operational strategy and establishing operational excellence across our business units. You will engage with our key clients and provide strategic direction to enhance and develop our operational resources. You will execute on our goal to achieve continual customer satisfaction, surpass revenue targets, profitability and business objectives.
As a key member of the Gallagher Bassett New Zealand Executive Team, this role plays an important part in contributing to the strategic direction of the New Zealand business, enabling a high-performance culture with a focus on delivering results.

What You Will Do
You will have the opportunity to positively influence leaders to deliver operational efficiencies within the organization. You will also drive new and exciting technology and automation initiatives that will enhance our customers’ experience.
A key component to the role is building customer and stakeholder relationships. As part of our leadership team, you will be managing Gallagher Bassett’s national operations network across all lines of business. You will be developing and leading operational senior managers, nurturing a culture of high performance across operations, based on the The Gallagher Way.
Working closely with the Chief Client Officer, you will help to operationalise the development of new products and execute the product management strategy. With a strong focus on client relationships, operational excellence and financial accountability, you will actively identify and mitigate key business risks in the national operations portfolio and have the opportunity to contribute to the broader business strategic agenda as part of the GBNZ Executive Team. You will analyse trends and needs to assess our operational strengths and vulnerabilities in order to meet our growth commitments.
Motivated by continuous improvement and energized by customer satisfaction, you will be executing programs to reduce deviations, provide for on-time delivery, and meet customer quality and cost expectations. Your continuous improvement approach will identify efficiency opportunities that deliver cost reduction, improve outcomes and provide an excellent customer experience.
You will be instrumental in building and maintaining a departmental structure, operating standards and practices that are responsive and adaptable to evolving business needs. An important part of your role is workforce and talent planning, ensuring the right people are in the right place at the right time to meet the strategic needs of operations.

To be successful in this role, you will have outstanding relationship management skills, and a background in insurance or financial services. You will have a strong focus on delighting the customer with proven experience in cost optimization and delivering upon SLA’s.
