GBST Hiring for Senior Backend Software Engineer Job at Australia, Australia Full Time

We believe our people are the key to business success and, as such, are looking for an experienced Backend Software Engineer, ideally with knowledge of Power Builder & solid SQL skills, to join our team and be involved in a major technology transformation.

Based on the next phases of our project requirement, this role is a great opportunity if you want to get exposure to and be involved in determining and delivering end to end solutions. This may include enhancements to existing stored procedures, new DSAPIs, new UI changes and new shared processes.

What you’ll be doing:

• Collaborate with scrum team members (software engineer, testers, BA) on problems, improvements, and modifications to computer system software
• Undertake simple systems design and coding from specifications (this includes investigating existing code to see how the current behaviour will be impacted)
• Consult and work together with architects on more complex solutions
• Conduct unit tests & TSQL automation based on unit test designs
• Embrace BDD practice & processes
• Maintain detailed unit test designs to establish the order in which data is processed, points at which decisions must be made, and the sequence of operations
• Assist in the modification, amendment and updating of software programs

We’d love to hear from you if you have:

• Minimum three years’ experience with PowerBuilder / SQL development
• Ability to develop complex SQL Queries, stored procedures, and functions
• Advanced problem solving and troubleshooting skills
• Proven Sybase and/or MSSQL development experience
