Job Description
GEI is seeking respected individuals who aspire to have a positive impact on GEI s team and are interested in working collaboratively with a talented team of design, management, and technical leaders. GEI will provide a unique opportunity to collaborate across multiple practices to successfully deliver solutions for our clients.
The Canadian operation of GEI is expanding in the Ontario market and GEI is looking for an Administrative Assistant to support the engineering, environmental and natural heritage teams in the Markham, Ontario office. This position includes regular full-time work (40 hours per week).
The Administrative Assistant will work closely with GEI project managers, engineers, and technical staff to provide support for a wide variety of office, accounting, and project-related administrative tasks.
Primary Responsibilities:
Schedule field and office staff
Open projects and record client data
Proofread, format and compile reports
Answer phone calls
Receive deliveries and visitors to the office; following required safety protocols
Review and purchase of supplies
Tidying, cleaning, and garbage disposal
Monitor and organize purchasing of office / lunchroom supplies
Aid in organizing corporate functions and events
Creation and editing of PDF field forms, creation of simple figures
Improve office procedures and processes
Qualifications
Administrative Assistant will have strong attention to detail and strong interpersonal skills.
Excellent organizational, grammar, punctuation and spelling skills are required, as well as outstanding verbal and written communication skills.
Advanced Microsoft Word and Technical Writing skills; including automating documents, formatting, and accurate proof reading.
Advanced Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Adobe Acrobat skills
2+ years of office experience preferred.
Valid driver s license required.
Previous experience supporting architects, engineers or construction firms is a plus.
