We are now seeking a people and culture business partner to join our team to implement one of our core strategic objectives – continuing to make Biomatters a high performing, people focused organisation.

You’ll be jumping into a newly formed role as Head of People. This is exciting as you’ll have the ability to shape your role and prioritise your focus. In this function, you will support and engage with our dynamic and diverse teams, both here in NZ and across our Danish and US subsidiaries.

We are an international team of 65 and growing. You will help guide and support our people to build soft and hard skills and capabilities, shape our culture while retaining what makes us great, ensuring a consistent, amazing experience for all our teams – regardless of location.

Responsibilities:

• Design, plan, and run people and culture initiatives across the global business, working with the COO to ensure initiatives support the broader business strategy.
• Own the recruitment and onboarding process, ensuring that future staff experience, from application through to the first week (and beyond), is streamlined, painless, and productive.
• Develop people management capability across all line managers to ensure the best outcomes for the business, ensuring team alignment to organisational objectives as well as managing people and employment-related issues.
• Collaborate with line managers to develop, deliver, and review individual and team development plans and OKRs to ensure productivity and engagement.
• Provide the “escalation point” for general employment and people management queries ensuring the timely resolution of problems to avoid a negative impact on the business objectives and results.
• Ensure ER compliance, while striving to develop a culture that proactively reduces any ER needs.

Requirements:

• A progressive outlook on HR, with an interest in Employee Experience
• Sound administrative skills – happy to get their hands dirty and dig into the details
• An interest in HR operations across multiple geographies, in a rapidly growing business
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

• Exceptional listening skills
