GDIT is seeking a Senior Systems Administrator for AD/GPO to join our program.
Join an exciting and dynamic team delivering a large-scale Enterprise Common Tools cloud platform, automation & orchestration, and Cloud Application Migration effort for the Army. This team works in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, with engineering, migration, and operations & sustainment of cloud migration efforts. Enterprise Common Tools and specific Army program customer migration efforts provide a range of day-to-day challenges, while the bigger picture architecture and migration efforts provide tangible milestones that the team pursues together following AGILE practices, to deliver the overall program effort. We’re looking for self-starter senior system administrators, to work both as part of the team and on individual assignments, in an environment of customer mission delivery, integrity and communications. We’re looking to fill this role/team with those who currently have the cloud experience, certifications, and skills to execute in large enterprise environments, are flexible and enjoy tackling challenges, and desire to join a large team that is building and sustaining a large multi-tenant cloud platform/enterprise and migrating/expanding/automating the enterprise. Responsibilities include:
Administrating and life-cycle management of a large multi-tenant environment.
Maintains the integrity and security of systems.
As required, virtually supports users (other engineers, app developers, etc.) with completing requests for deployment of new services or addressing current service interruption.
Maintains system documentation.
Patching of servers and systems.
Administer MS Active Directory in our AWS Cloud environment.
Administer GPO in our AWS Cloud environment.
May assist with or schedule and deliver backups, file restores and disaster recovery.
Supports and develops related automation.
May program in an administrative language such as Bash, PowerShell, Python.
Develops and implements testing strategies and document results.
Maintains current knowledge of relevant technologies as assigned.
Participates in special projects as required.
Adheres to the principles, methods, and techniques used in system and network administration and support.
Maintains/enhances knowledge of related AWS cloud services.
May require professional certification in one or more specific technologies, depending on job assignment.
May be required to work outside of “normal” work hours to include weekends and holidays.
May be required to support operations onsite and/or remote locations.
Independently provides advance level technical interpretation and solutions in the management of data availability, durability, and protection.
Experience with MS Active Directory in a Cloud environment
Experience with user profile management technologies and techniques.
Experience with security profiles and GPOs.
Troubleshoots access policies that are moderate to high complexity in scope.
Monitors and tunes the system to achieve optimum performance levels.
Applies practical knowledge of job area typically obtained through work experience continuous learning
Work across teams, and external customer groups to develop strategy, design solutions, and advise implementation teams during deployment.
Deal with escalations. Make assessments, recommendations or provide solutions to resolve issues.
Experience leveraging cost optimization and cloud elasticity
Experience working with infrastructure as code for provisioning and managing cloud resources.
Assist decision makers with budget forecasting for workload data/resources
Write and maintain standard operating procedures and work instructions, knowledge articles, etc.
Required skills and experience:
BA/BS (or equivalent experience), 5+ years of experience (Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related area is preferred)
Must meet DoD 8570 requirements and be eligible for IAT level II (Security+ CE or equivalent) access
Experience with MS Active Directory, Security and GPOs
Experience with backups, file store, DR recovery, and related
Experience with AWS or similar high availability configurations and use of multiple availability zones
Excellent communication skills with demonstrated experience delivering presentations to diverse audiences at various levels of an organization
A strong understanding of business processes and expertise in managing operations following the ITIL processes
Desired skills and experience:
Experience with Cloud Computing, active cloud certification in AWS, Google or Azure (AWS Preferred)
Experience with Server STIGs, patching, Tenable, ACAS, SCCM, and IAVA vulnerabilities.
Experience with Linux, Red Hat and other systems
Experience with ServiceNOW ITSM
ITIL Foundation certification
