Our work depends on an Instructional Developer – Advisor joining our team to support training activities for various federal clients.
At GDIT, people are our differentiator. As an Instructional Developer – Advisor supporting our clients, you will be trusted to work on training and performance improvement programs. In this role, a typical day will include:
Lead teams in developing business strategies for new and existing products that meet government training needs
Consult with government agencies, subject matter experts and instructional designers to learn requirements and build innovative training programs and content
Develop training materials including instructor guides, student guides, supplemental training materials such as quick reference guides, web-based training, and other training content, as needed
Lead efforts in planning, developing, managing and evaluating in-person, online and hybrid training programs
Lead learning technology initiatives, including webinars, online courses, self-paced e-learning and streaming video
Prepare regular program content and messaging (course descriptions, learning objectives, outreach emails, etc.)
Interact directly with customers to manage and support project-related activities
Conduct research for relevant learning program content
Assist with the preparation of business proposals and contract reporting activities as needed
Your success will be measured through your ability to deliver high quality training and performance improvement tools within designated schedules and budgets for each program.
WHAT YOU’LL NEED:
Bachelor’s degree in instructional technology, e-learning, instructional design or related field. Master’s Degree preferred.
8+ years of experience developing and supporting online learning and other learning technologies preferred.
Current DHS U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) BI Clearance or Secret Clearance preferred or must have the ability to obtain one.
Excellent understanding and application of all phases of the ADDIE process.
Knowledge and application of adult learning theory.
Working knowledge of Section 508 compliance, and conversion of training and supporting documentation into 508 compliant products.
Experience facilitating training in-person in a traditional classroom setting or on-line via virtual classrooms
Experience or training in developing learning design documents, storyboards, and e-learning prototypes.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Knowledge of major online delivery and content sharing platforms (i.e. ON24, WebEx, Adobe Connect, Blackboard, SharePoint, etc.)
Travel time required for the position is 10% – 25%.
