Plans, authorizes, and monitors engineering work (including providing strong leadership to ensure all events occur as planned). Oversees performance, cost, scope and schedule for all engineering efforts. Ensures all project deliverables (including documentation) are developed with high quality and delivered on time. Manages the resolution of technical issues, communicates the resolution to all affected parties, and ensures that the resolution is carried out in all of the affected artifacts. Conducts monthly engineering status reviews and provides material for the monthly program reviews. Ability to lead and to take on technology challenging tasks, including researching, developing, designing and testing of systems, electrical components, equipment and software, and applying principles and techniques of engineering disciplines. Applies the appropriate standards, processes, procedures, and tools throughout the system development life cycle to support generation of technical engineering products. Plans and executes significant project tasks or small projects.
